A definitive laboratory answer takes two to fourteen days. Treatment begins on day zero, without one. Meanwhile, the tests currently fast enough to reach the patient miss around half of what is there.

Our Dragonfly Malaria Pan/Pf panel detects malaria directly from a fingerprick blood sample, with species identification where it is needed. Under 45 minutes, one operator, no laboratory. It finds the low-density and asymptomatic infections that field tests miss, which are the ones that keep transmission going. Validated in The Gambia and Burkina Faso.

When you need a lesion swab answered on site, read by eye

Our Dragonfly Skin Infection panel detects MPXV and OPXV directly from a skin lesion swab. The result is a colour change, read by eye in under 40 minutes, with no instrument of any kind. Evaluated with the Uganda Virus Research Institute and expanding into the DRC, and identified by FIND in 2024 as one of only three true point-of-care tests for the virus.
